As one of the most influential physicians in the history of Elizabeth General Hospital, Dr. Shangle served the people of Elizabeth as a surgeon for more than five decades.
One of the two residence halls at Elizabeth General was named Shangle Hall, where medical residents met and received training during their internships. Here he is pictured with an Elizabeth General physician's baseball team in 1913. In another photo we will post soon he is shown with other physicians in uniform during WW2.
