1912 Elizabeth General Hospital Physicians Baseball Team

In the early part of the 20th Century a group of physicians organized their own baseball team to participate in leagues, tournaments and fundraising events. The doctors, from left to right, are Dr. Russell Shirrefs, Dr. Frank Steinke, Dr. George Orton, Dr. Alvin Eaton, Dr. William Boozan, Dr. Jacob Reiner, Dr. Horace Livingood, Dr. Milton Shangle, Dr. George Veith and Dr. Claude Grimm. Dr. Friend Gilpin is in the background, and an unidentified team mascot stands proudly in the foreground, ready to provide First Aid if needed.
